Use the search bar at the top of the page or on the home page. You can search by ingredient, dish name, cuisine, or cooking method. Results filter in real time.

Can I save recipes as favourites?

Yes! Tap the bookmark icon on any recipe to save it to your bookmarks. You can find all saved recipes under Bookmarks in the menu. You don't need an account — bookmarks are saved locally on your device.

How do shopping lists work?

Open a recipe and tap 'Add to shopping list'. The ingredients are added to your active list. You can create multiple lists, tick off items as you shop, and share the list with others.

In what languages is TheGourmetApp available?

TheGourmetApp is currently available in English, Swedish, Dutch, French, and German. We are continuously working to add more languages. Choose your language via the flag icon in the menu.

We use a combination of AI translation and human editing. Each recipe is reviewed to ensure the instructions are clear and natural in the chosen language, not just word-for-word translations.

Do I need an account to use TheGourmetApp?

No, you can browse and read all recipes without an account. With an account you can sync your bookmarks and shopping lists across devices, create your own recipes, and use the meal planner.

How do I import a recipe from another site?

Go to New Recipe and choose 'Import from URL'. Paste the link to a recipe on another website and we will try to fetch the ingredients and instructions automatically. You can then edit and save it to your account.

How does the meal planner work?

Open Meal Plan in the menu and drag and drop recipes on to the days you want to cook them. You can then generate a combined shopping list for the whole week with one click.

Are there recipes for special occasions and food days?

Yes! Our Celebrations section lists international and local food days (e.g. World Pasta Day, National Pancake Day). On each day you will find curated recipes that fit the occasion.
